WHAT IS THERAPY?

Talking therapy is a process where you meet with a trained therapist to discuss and work through personal challenges, emotions, and thoughts. It's a safe, confidential space where you can openly express what you're feeling without judgment.
The goal is to help you gain insight into your thoughts and behaviors, develop coping strategies, and improve your emotional well-being. It's not just for people with mental health issues; anyone facing stress, life transitions, relationship problems, or simply wanting to understand themselves better can benefit from it.

Sessions last 50 minutes, once a week (sometimes every other week). I offer face to face sessions, online sessions and concession prices. I work in a "client focussed" manner, meaning each session is tailored to your needs.

I offer a free 30 minute phone call to get to know your needs and expectations, to see if I am able to offer what you are looking for.

Person- Centred Therapy

Person-Centred Therapy was developed by Carl Rogers in the 1940s. It is based on the idea that people have an innate tendency toward growth, and that they are the experts on their own experiences. The therapist’s role is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where the client can explore their thoughts and feelings freely.

The overall goal of Person-Centred Therapy is to empower clients to find their own solutions and paths to personal growth, rather than the therapist directing or advising them. It's a collaborative process where the client’s own sense of self and ability to make decisions are central to their healing and development.

The Integrative Approach

I have an “integrative” approach to therapy. Integrative Therapy blends techniques and theories from different therapeutic approaches to tailor treatment to the individual needs of the client.

People are complex, so therapy should be flexible and adaptable. I consider the client’s unique personality, life experiences, and specific challenges to create a personalised approach.
